On the occasion of World Earth Day, Scientist & Engineering Wing RERF Brahmakumaris in collaboration with NIT Kurukshetra organised a talk that was centered around investing in our planet. The talk was held in the Wisdom Hall of ThoughtLab in NIT kurukshetra on 22nd April 2023 from 5pm to 6.30pm. Around 50 students from the college were present for the talk.
<br/>Dr Dixit Garg, Dean Student Welfare NIT Kurukshetra, was the Chief Guest. While sharing his ideas, he said that we need to save our planet earth. The pollution first originates from the mind in the form of negative thoughts. We need to curb this pollution first. Initially people used to be very caring and protective of their environment but this is not the case any more. He asked everyone to take a pledge to plant a tree on one’s birthday. Talking about Thoughtlab, he asked students to visit for at least 10-15 mins to this lab daily and meditate and if they do so their entire day will be energetic. He thanked the Director, NIT Kurukshetra as well because of whom this idea of Thoughtlab came into being in NIT.<br/><br/>Dr Naresh Bhardwaj, the distinguished guest and the founder of Green Earth NGO, shared his thoughts and said that it is in the hands of educated youth to save our environment. To benefit the self , to benefit nature - it all depends on our thoughts. He urged everyone to stop using plastic, plant the tree and to take care of that planted tree as well.<br/><br/>Dr Sandip Gupta, the distinguished guest and the Asst Professor in Dept of Environment KUK, said we should do every effort at our end to save the environment and urged everyone to stop using plastic.<br/><br/>Dr Amita Gupta, the HOD in Dept of Biotechnology, UIET, welcomed all the guests with the bouquet. She invited all the students to visit the ThoughtLab daily and make meditation their daily practice.<br/><br/>Bk Shivali Behan from Kurukshetra Centre and the Coordinator of the Godly services of Thoughtlab in NIT Kurukshetra, made everyone experience meditation through commentary and asked everyone to spare at least 2 mins daily to radiate good vibrations in the environment through our positive thoughts. She thanked all the guests present for the talk.<br/>
