    The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Lt. General KT Parnaik, (Retd.) launched the State-level ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat- Nasha Mukt Arunachal Abhiyan’ on 22nd September 2023. The launching programme, which was organised by the Medical Wing of RajYoga Education and Research Foundation(RERF) of Brahma Kumaris Center, Itanagar in Collaboration with DNGC at Dera Natung Govt. College Jubilee Hall auditorium started with the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dera Natung Govt. College and Rajyoga Education & Research Foundation, Brahma Kumaris, Itanagar. <br/>The programme witnessed the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dera Natung Govt. College and Rajyoga Education & Research Foundation, Brahma Kumaris, Itanagar.<br/>Abhiyan was launched by lighting candles and waving Flags by the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh along with Bro. Alo Libang ji, Hon’ble Minister, Health & Family Welfare, Social Justice and Empowerment & Tribal Affairs (SJETA); D. S. Bhaskar, IPS, Secretary to Hon`ble Governor; BK Dr. Sachin Parab, National co-ordinator, “My India-Addiction free India Campaign``, Brahma Kumaris, from Mumbai ; Dr. M. Q. Khan, Principal, DNGC; Brahma Kumari Junu, Manager ; BK Prof. Dr. Jayadeba Sahoo, Sr. RajYoga Faculty Trainer, Brahma Kumaris, RERF & Sr. Professor (Ex- Dean & Head), Faculties of Education & Languages, Rajiv Gandhi (Central) University and other Dignitaries. <br/>In his address, the Governor said that ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat- Nasha Mukt Arunachal Abhiyan’ initiated by Brahma Kumaris is not just a campaign but a commitment to the wellbeing of the people. By tackling the root cause of drug abuse, raising awareness and providing support, it aspires to pave the way for a brighter, healthier future for the State and the nation.<br/>Hon’ble Governor as Chief Guest, said, addiction has created a dangerous situation for our Arunachal society. Does are addicted not only does substance are been used but also Behavioural addiction like mobile addiction, Internet addiction not only creating problem for themselves but creating the problem for their family, community and society as a whole he expressed the serious concern over the drug menace spreading like wildfire in Arunachal. He expressed his satisfaction for the initiative by the ministry of social justice and empowerment, Government of India to trust and entrust Brahma Kumaris spiritual organisation to tackle the issue of substance abuse by signing MoU for Nasha Mukta Bharat Abhiyan which Brahma Kumaris organisation is taking seriously and will take the moment at village and block level to generate awareness for its serious effects.<br/>The Governor commended the Brahma Kumaris and authority of Dera Natung Government College, Itanagar for signing the MoU. He said that it is a challenging task but expressed hope that the endeavour will bring good results and go a long way in fortifying a promising future for the youth of the State.<br/>The Governor emphasised on a healthy family environment at home as a first and foremost step towards Nasha Mukt society. A good upbringing of a child will never give a chance to stray and pick up bad habits.<br/>The Governor said that the State Government is committed and has Arunachal Pradesh Psychoactive Substance Policy 2021 in place, but, he underscored the involvement of the society as a whole to assist those going into addiction. He appealed to the people not to neglect even one individual and help the person to get rid of the bad habit.<br/>The Governor said drug addiction is a serious issue and called for strong action against drug peddlers and suppliers. He suggested the use of technology in tracking peddlers and drug suppliers. With real-time tracking, we can keep an eye and eradicate drug menace from our society, he said. <br/>He appealed to all to adopt Brahma Kumaris lifestyle RajYoga Meditation fully stress-free, addiction-free, happy life. He appreciated the step of Brahma Kumaris of this ‘Nasha Mukta Bharat -- Nasha Mukta Arunachal Abhiyan’ by enlightening & Empowering future generations of Arunachal Pradesh.<br/> Alo Libang Ji, Hon’ble Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Social Justice and Empowerment & Tribal Affairs (SJETA), Women & Child Development (WCD) in his address said that the addiction is the reason for 80% cancers, brain stroke, TB, etc. Drug addiction is emerging as a serious concern in Arunachal Pradesh specially in the younger generation leading to dangerous convenience not for the person using drugs but both on the family and society at large. Drug abuse has resulted in an increase in crime rate and heard of an overall impact on society, the Minister said. <br/>He strongly called upon the youths comprising most of the students to shoulder the responsibility of making the state free from any kind of addictions and substance abuse.<br/>Terming the day as historic, he urged the students to be proactive in this regard and abide by the pledge taken on the occasion to stay away from addictions.<br/>Our state is witnessing speedy development in all sectors, the minister said, and expressed his gratitude to the Brahma Kumaris centres for their endeavour towards saving the future of Arunachal Pradesh. Advising them to stay optimistic in life, Libang appealed to all to support the fight against drug abuse and any kinds of addictive substances as a responsible citizen.<br/>Government had adopted a legislation in the line and Arunachal Pradesh Psychoactive Substances Policy is in place to eradicate the menace from the society, the minister stated, adding rehabilitation centres have been set up in some districts for necessary treatment and counseling of the addicts.<br/>Dr. Banarasilal Sah, Secretary, Medical Wing of Rajyoga Education & Research Foundation (RERF), Brahma Kumaris, Mount Abu, Rajasthan, informed that GoI, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment has signed a MoU with the Brahma Kumaris, RERF on March 4, 2023 to undertake the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan for eradicating addictions from the country through change in lifestyle, counselling and meditation. He said if we feed any animal addictive substances no animal will eat it but we human beings- the best creation of the god are using it. Even after 75 years of independence when we are celebrating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav the addiction has enslaved independent India Azad Bharat due to lack of will power to control the temptation and to face the stressful situations of life. By spiritual self-empowerment with the spiritual wisdom and Raj yoga meditation one can increase will power and fight back and get rid of all sorts of addictions. While giving many Success anecdotes of de-addiction by RajYoga Meditation he assured to take this campaign to all the villages of state and country. He appealed to all to adopt Brahma Kumaris lifestyle RajYoga Meditation fully for stress-free, addiction-free, happy and Healthy life. <br/>Dr. Sachin Parab, National Coordinator, “My India-Addiction free India Campaign”, BK, Mumbai, in his keynote address gave a detailed demonstration on their initiatives taken across around 180 countries and highlighted on the ill effects of addictions through a powerpoint presentation cautioning all that Arunachal Pradesh has been number one in alcohol consumption and cancer suffering in India.. He said that there are five stages of addiction like use, misuse, abuse, dependence and addiction. We must remain alert to fight back this menace to protect our young generations for a better state and country. He further called upon participation of all stakeholders such as women, children, youth Educational institutions and civil society to make it a movement for all sorts of addiction and abuse. He further explained there two types of addiction - one is substance use disorders like Tobacco, alcohol, ganja, charas, affim/opium/Kani and medicines and other is Behavioural addiction disorders like gambling, shopping, internet use, mobile, food and relationship. In a very lively presentation, Dr Parab motivated the student attendees to shun the wrong practices and channelize their energy in a positive way for an addiction free society. He said , “Ham Brahma Kumaris bhi is nase me hai ki” to make Bharat and Arunachal Nasa Mukt. While explaining research findings on the effect of RajYoga Meditation, made all experience RajYoga meditation with live commentary.<br/>Manager, Brahma Kumaris, Itanagar, Brahma Kumari Junu while administering the Nasha Mukt (De-addiction) pledge to all the participants in programme for not to adopt any addiction in future and inspire others for it reminded that India had been known as land of gods and goddesses who were regarded as living pure satwik lifes. When our ancestors were using this type of pure lifestyle, how can we adopt this nasty addictive lifestyle? Even in Rehabilitation Centers of Arunachal like in Tezu, Brahma Kumaris lifestyle RajYoga Meditation brought speedy recovery and remarkable change in Life of addicted sufferings.<br/>Earlier, Secretary to Governor Darade Sharad Bhaskar, while appreciating the Brahma Kumaris for their selfless services for the betterment of the society, stressed on the need to check the demand and supply of these abusive substances, besides proper counseling to the addicts as it tends to many criminal activities. Stating that peer pressure among the youngsters led to addictions, he called upon the students not to succumb to such pressures for a healthy life and society.<br/>Prof. Dr. Jayadeba Sahoo while welcoming all explained that Nasha Mukta Bharat Abhiyan is a flagship programme for which Ministry of social justice and empowerment, Government of Bharat has signed an MoU with BRAHMA KUMARIS, Mount Abu on 4th March 2023 in presence of Dr. Virendra Kumar, Honourable Minister, Social justice and empowerment for spreading the message of the Nasha Mukta Bharat Abhiyan among the youth, women, students etc. This campaign is going on all over India jointly by Brahma Kumaris Medical Wing and Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India which was launched even by President of Bharat Mrs. Droupadi Murmu ji. He introduced <br/>Dr M.Q. Khan, Principal, DNGC, speaking on the occasion, highlighted the NMBA. He said that the rate of drug addiction in the state is high, mostly in adolescent age and hence launching of NMBA is necessitated to control drug addictions, premature deaths etc through creating awareness, educating and counseling. He also spoke on the significance of meditation for one’s personality development to wean away from the wrong path and deal with peer pressures among the students. He said that Addicted people have adapted the principle - ‘ham to doobe sanam….’ - I have drowned and will drown with you all. He appreciated the steps of Brahma Kumaris of this ‘Nasha Mukta Bharat Abhiyan’ for betterment of Arunachal and assured by Signing of MoU between Dera Natung Govt. College (DNGC) & Brahma Kumaris” is a historic moment for all of us which will lead towards various self empowerment activities for students to make them real human beings. <br/>As part of the programme, Rajyoga Teacher from Tezpur, Brahma Kumari Kamala conducted a meditation session on the occasion.<br/>While Brahma Kumari Trisha enthralled with a welcome dance on ‘Swagatam, su swagatam….’ Short play on “Effect of Nasha & its End” by Brahma Kumaris Group captivated all & inspired for Nasa Mukt.<br/>While BK Debahuti Goswami, RajYoga Teacher, Tezpur was Master of Ceremony, Assistant Professor, DNGC, Dr. Ratna Tayeng, DNGC Coordinator of the program delivered the vote of thanks.<br/>Special invitees, faculty members of Dera Natung Govt. College and other educational institutes, NSS programme officers and volunteers and students from different colleges like HCTE, Lekhi and schools like Green Mount School of the Capital Itanagar participated in the launching programme.
